This has always been a series where you have to suspend disbelief, but I had the most believability issues with THE DARK AND HOLLOW PLACES. This is the final book in Ryan's zombie Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy. Annah's world has been a cold, dark, and terrifying place ever since Elias left for the Recruiters. This last book, however, seemed especially dark and violent. Each of these books show desperate people living in circumstances where death is a daily threat and is almost certainly not the end of your suffering. I was so disappointed when The Dead-Tossed Waves wasn't an actual sequel! The big difference between the two books it that The Dark and Hollow Places is told from the perspective of Annah, the the twin sister of the narrator from the second book, Gabry. The Dark and Hollow Places continues from where The Dead-Tossed Waves left off, but this time we're reading from Gabry's twin sister's point of view.
